Khatib and Alami (K&A) has early on realized the need for establishing an Environmental Engineering Division that can focus on the development of engineering knowledge that deals with the constantly evolving environmental issues. This took place in the early 70s when the Environmental Engineering Discipline was started and continued to grow in scope and human resources.

Since its inception, K&A has completed numerous environmental projects in Lebanon, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the USA. The K&A Environmental Engineering team employs a large group of engineers, scientists and technicians, with a diversity of expertise including hydraulics, hydrology, hydrogeology, irrigation, dam engineering, water resources management, water treatment, water distribution networks, wastewater collection, stormwater drainage, treatment and disposal/reuse, flood mitigation and solid waste management.
