| POWER-GEN Middle East Exhibition 2002 |  |
| Under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, a major Power Conference and Exhibition -Power-Gen Middle East 2002- took place in Abu Dhabi city between October 21- 23, 2002. Focusing on power generation, distribution and transmission, the exhibition was the largest ever dedicated to the field and staged in the Middle East region.
The exhibition attracted more than 30,000 professionals. Major international power companies, along with Khatib & Alami (K & A), the leader in GIS applications for Electric Utilities in the Middle East, participated in this event and had the opportunity to present their services reflecting their different expertise. As a lead sponsor, Abu Dhabi Water and Electric Authority (ADWEA) was heavily involved with all its service providers. Portraying the ADWEA GIS project, its remarkable stand was a major attraction for technology lovers who admired the level of modernization, increased efficiency in business processes, better quality customer service and the reduction in cost, which is transforming the authority into a knowledge based organization.Khatib & Alami, the main subcontractor for the implementation of the ADWEA’s GIS project, exhibited its capacities in Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental and Industrial projects. GIS as a cross cutting technology among the different development sectors was well represented in K&A’s list of projects and clients. |
