Job Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) Manager is accountable to ensure the provision of state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and systems that enable business operations on the project. He is responsible to undertake all IT activities, including IT planning, installation, maintenance and technical support in a cost-effective and timely manner. He shall work in close alignment with the corporate IT Department and ensure provision of IT services per the defined service level targets. The jobholder ensures the responsiveness and diligence in handling IT requests. The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest market developments and trends in the information technology space and adopt best practices, where applicable.

Key Responsibilities Areas and Activities Of the Role:

• Monitor performance of IT systems and services

• Report IT performance KPIs to the PM

• Collect, analyze and consolidate technology upgrade requests of project staff and evaluate compatibility with existing IT infrastructure and systems

• Support the implementation of IT Infrastructure on the project

• Procure IT hardware and software as per corporate policies, procedures and agreements

• Install and set-up PCs, printers, scanners etc.

• Operate and maintain IT infrastructure including local area networks, servers, back-up servers, intra-office networks, telecom networks, PCs, printers, scanners, videoconferencing, etc.

• Manage IT networks and servers and ensure uninterrupted operations

• Monitor IT network availability and performance and resolve operational issues

• Implement K&A IT security architecture, such as authentication systems, firewalls, endpoint security, encryption tools

• Enact access rights and ensure proper authentication for access to data centers, networks, databases and applications

• Manage firewall administration and network security

• Administer e-mail servers and handling systems

• Set up and maintain anti-spam and anti-virus systems as per corporate policies and procedures

• Identify potential and new IT application ideas to enable IT operations and coordinate with the corporate IT Department for the development of new applications

• Manage IT spare parts inventory

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies required to Execute this Role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred

• IT certification is mandatory (e.g. MCSE, CCIE, CISSP, CCNA, ITIL, A+, MCTS)

• Knowledge of Engineering and Water Industry is an advantage

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, solutions, applications development, network planning and support

• Knowledge of IT security policies, procedures and techniques

• Good analytical and quantitative skills

• Good organization skills

• Good communication skills

• Good negotiation skills

• Strong customer service orientation

• Good interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
  

Experience Required to execute this Role:

• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology

• 2+ years of experience in the Engineering and Water Industry in a top tier regional / multinational consultancy firm is an advantage

• Demonstrated experience with IT services management, including IT infrastructure management, applications development and support

• Demonstrated experience with management of IT procurement process, including vendor management, product evaluation, negotiations, etc.

• Experience in ERP or CRM implementation and support

• Exposure to international best practices and trends in the IT field
