Qualifications

Khatib & Alami is seeking to recruit experienced and highly motivated specialists to work on a GIS project in Oman.

 

Role

Required experience

Project Director

  • 20 years of experience out of which 10 years in senior management and director roles

  • Degree in engineering – preferably civil engineering

  • Experience in overseeing delivery of technical services including asset management systems

  • Experience in overseeing service delivery contracts in the Middle East

Deputy Project Manager  (based in Oman)

  • 15 years of experience out of which 8 years in asset and/or road management systems

  • Degree in engineering – preferably civil engineering

Senior Bridge Specialist (based in Oman)

  • 20 years of experience in bridge design, construction and maintenance with at least 10 years of experience in bridge management systems

  • Degree in civil engineering with a Masters degree in a relevant specialization

  • Relevant experience in bridge asset management in both a European and non-European contexts

  • Experience in the Middle East is an advantage

Systems Integrator (based in Oman)

  • 15 years of experience in computers and IT technology with at least 5 years of experience working with asset management and/or roads systems

  • Degree in Computer Science/ GIS/ Computer Engineering

Senior Software /IT Specialist**(based in Oman)

  • 10 years postgraduate experience in Information Technology preferably in road management systems

  • Degree in Computer Science/ GIS/ Computer Engineering

GIS Specialist** (based in Oman)

  • 10 years postgraduate experience in GIS systems and spatial systems with at least 5 years experience in road related GIS

  • Degree in Computer Science/ GIS/ Computer Engineering

Senior Traffic & Transport Engineer** (based in Oman)

  • 15 years of experience in traffic and transport planning, demand modeling and data analysis

  • Degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in a relevant specialization

  • Experience in traffic network demand models and forecasting techniques

  • Experience in the scoping, specification, procurement and management of data requirements of large scale network studies

  • Experience in data collection and traffic demand forecasting in both a European and non-European contexts

  • Experience in the Middle East will be an advantage

Senior Transport Economist**(based in Oman)

  • 15 years of experience in macroeconomics and transport economics studies

  • Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Economics

  • Fully conversant with HDM-4, analogous methodologies and the development of Road User Cost models

  • Experience in development policy

  • Experience in programs for asset management systems and roads maintenance in a variety of operating and procurement models

  • Experience in developed and developing economies

  • Experience in the Middle East will be an advantage

HR & Training Specialist

  • 20 years of experience in HR Management, design of training programs, assessment of HR needs roles and skills and competencies in large complex public sector organizations

  • Bachelor and Master’s degrees in a relevant field

  • Experience in implementing change processes

  • Experience in managing capacity building and technology transfer plans and processes in a non-European context

  • Experience in the Middle East will be an advantage

Institutional strengthening Specialist

  • 20 years experience in relevant discipline

  • Experience in institutional planning and reviews of major public sector delivery organizations

  • Experience in managing, developing and implementing institutional strengthening programs in the roads and transport sector in a governmental context

  • Experience in implementing change processes and in developing and managing capacity building and technology transfer plans and processes in a non-European context

  • Experience in the Middle East will be an advantage

Procurement Specialist

  • 20 years experience in procurement and contract management in the public sector’s organizations

  • Significant experience in road maintenance operations and procurement models

  • Fully conversant with current and emerging best practice in asset management and road maintenance procurement models

  • Experience in implementing change processes and in developing and managing capacity building and technology transfer plans and processes in a non-European context

  • Experience in the Middle East will be an advantage
