K&A and Qatar University Celebrate Prestigious ENR Award

Khatib & Alami (K&A) proudly joined Qatar University in celebrating a remarkable achievement as the new College of Law received the prestigious Award of Merit from the globally acclaimed Engineering News Record (ENR). The celebration, which was held at Qatar University, gathered esteemed guests, including President Dr. Omar Al Ansari, faculty members, and representatives from K&A, and Bojamhoor Trading & Contracting Company, the project’s contractor.

The award ceremony highlighted the strong collaboration and shared vision that made this architectural milestone possible, merging Qatari heritage with global standards in educational facility design. Dr. Talal Al-Emadi, Dean of the College of Law, highlighted the award’s importance, noting that it reflects the university’s dedication to creating sustainable and innovative spaces that elevate legal education. Alex Hanna, Vice President of K&A Qatar, emphasized that this accolade in the Education/Research category reaffirms K&A’s commitment to designing environments that inspire academic excellence and foster learning. Spanning a 52,000 m² site in the northwest of Qatar University’s campus, the College of Law merges traditional courthouse elements with contemporary architectural aesthetics. The facility accommodates approximately 2,500 students and features state-of-the-art classrooms, a 200-seat lecture hall, a 362-seat conference hall, and a mock courtroom to enhance practical training. The project’s adherence to international standards is evidenced by its four-star rating under the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) for design and construction. This recognition represents a significant achievement for Qatar University, further cementing its position as a leader in educational excellence. Notably, this is the second ENR award the university has earned in the Education/Research category, following the 2021 accolade for the New College of Education, another standout project by K&A. K&A remains dedicated to shaping transformative educational landscapes that inspire and empower future generations. This shared commitment continues to set new benchmarks for excellence, driving progress and innovation in Qatar and beyond.
