City Walk Dubai: Redefining Mixed-Use Urban Living

Urban Planning & Design | Urban Design | Dubai, United Arab Emirates

City Walk is a landmark mixed-use development in Dubai, combining residential, retail, hospitality, and entertainment within a pedestrian-friendly urban setting. The project was designed to reflect Dubai’s vision for human-centric neighborhoods, offering a walkable lifestyle with strong integration of public spaces.

K&A provided infrastructure design, traffic planning, utilities design, and construction supervision, ensuring the development’s technical systems supported its architectural and social ambitions.

Challenges in a Dense Urban Context

Delivering City Walk meant working within a constrained urban site surrounded by active road networks. Ensuring seamless integration of utilities and infrastructure while maintaining accessibility and minimizing disruption posed major challenges. The project also required careful planning to prioritize pedestrian mobility in a car-oriented city.

Engineering for Urban Livability

K&A introduced context-sensitive infrastructure solutions, including underground utility networks, efficient traffic circulation systems, and integrated stormwater management. Road and parking designs were optimized to reduce surface congestion, freeing space for landscaped plazas, walkways, and leisure areas.

A Walkable Urban Destination

The City Walk Dubai project successfully delivered a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood supported by resilient infrastructure. The development set a benchmark for mixed-use urban design in the region, blending technical efficiency with livability and creating a new model for sustainable, people-centered communities in Dubai.
