Lahore Times Square: Data-Driven Design for Sustainable Urban Development
Lahore Times Square project is a landmark mixed-use development designed to create a modern urban destination for Pakistan. The project balances architectural excellence with energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness, supporting long-term value for both users and developers.
Commissioned by Lahore Times Square Ltd., K&A delivered design services, applying advanced digital and sustainability-driven methodologies to meet the project’s complex demands.
Addressing the Challenges of High-Rise Design
The development required reconciling competing priorities. On one side, architectural aesthetics and prime views needed to be preserved; on the other, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness had to be achieved. In addition, selecting structural and façade systems required careful evaluation to ensure environmental sustainability without inflating project costs.
Digital and Sustainable Solutions
K&A adopted a data-driven design approach built on advanced digital tools and sustainability assessments. We also deployed a bespoke parametric design solver, enabling real-time testing of design alternatives. This allowed the team to optimize energy performance while safeguarding architectural quality and panoramic views.
To guide material selection, our teams conducted Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCCA). These analyses compared four structural and façade combinations, providing a clear picture of environmental and financial impacts.
A Benchmark for Energy-Efficient Urban Design
The Lahore Times Square project successfully combined parametric design with life cycle methodologies to achieve measurable energy savings, cost efficiency, and aesthetic quality.
This integrated approach set a new benchmark for sustainable urban development in Lahore, demonstrating how digital innovation and sustainability assessments can guide informed decision-making and deliver high-performance architecture.
