Obhur Master Plan and Detailed Design: Building Jeddah’s Coastal Future
The Obhur Master Plan and Detailed Design project reimagines one of Jeddah’s most strategic coastal zones, transforming it into a vibrant urban destination. Commissioned by Jeddah Municipality, the project created a blueprint for sustainable growth, tourism development, and modern infrastructure along the Red Sea shoreline.
K&A served as main consultant, delivering master planning, detailed urban design, infrastructure design, utilities, environmental assessments, and construction supervision.
Planning Challenges in a Coastal Setting
Obhur’s location posed challenges linked to rapid urban expansion, sensitive marine ecosystems, and the need to balance residential, commercial, and tourism development. Infrastructure systems had to be future-ready, while preserving the coastal environment and ensuring resilience against climate risks.
Integrated Coastal Design Solutions
K&A developed a comprehensive master plan incorporating mixed-use zones, waterfront promenades, and tourism attractions. Infrastructure networks were carefully designed to serve high-density growth while minimizing environmental impact.
