Three Emirati Neighbourhoods: Solid Waste Management
The Three Emirati Neighbourhoods Project supports the development of three new community districts in Al Wathba, south of Baniyas. The project contributes to Abu Dhabi’s goal of creating world-class, sustainable neighbourhoods for Emirati citizens.
K&A delivered Feasibility Study, Design, and Construction Supervision, with a focus on establishing an advanced, compliant, and efficient solid waste management system across all three areas.
Vision and Scope of the Three Emirati Neighbourhoods Project
The Three Emirati Neighbourhoods Project includes Al Wathba North, Al Wathba North New, and Al Wathba South. These neighbourhoods form one of the region’s most livable residential developments, designed to offer high-quality infrastructure and community services.
K&A’s work focused on sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance with Tadweer regulations and Estidama credit requirements.
Designing a Sustainable and Efficient Solid Waste System
The project focused on developing integrated waste management across three neighborhoods. It involved designing a comprehensive solid waste management framework that accounts for future population growth. K&A created detailed models for waste generation, collection methods, transfer strategies, and temporary storage solutions.
Ensuring Compliance and Seamless Community Operations
The team aligned all solutions with Tadweer’s standards and Estidama’s sustainability credits. Routing maps and swept path analyses were developed to ensure safe and efficient vehicle movement.
Technical Delivery for the Three Emirati Neighbourhoods Project
K&A prepared a solid waste master plan, defined storage requirements, and developed technical specifications to guide implementation. This ensured a unified approach across the three neighbourhoods.
The team secured all necessary authority approvals and NOCs. Feasibility Study, Design, and Construction Supervision ensured the system is ready for integration into the wider Musanada development program.
