Najib Khatib, PhD

Dr. Najib Khatib serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Khatib & Alami. He was elected Chairman in 2017 and has held the role of CEO since 2011, following more than two decades of leadership across technical, operational, and strategic functions within the firm. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, guiding multidisciplinary operations and contributing to the firm’s regional expansion, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Khatib began his journey with K&A in 1996 as a Senior Traffic Engineer, working in transport planning and traffic engineering at a time when digital tools such as GIS were still emerging in the sector. His early experience in design and construction supervision in the UAE, along with strategic expansion initiatives, shaped a leadership philosophy grounded in technical rigor, adaptability, and cross-cultural engagement.

As his responsibilities evolved from technical practice to organizational leadership, this progression strengthened his focus on governance, disciplined decision-making, and the clear alignment of long-term strategy with K&A’s culture and values.

As Chairman and CEO, he aligns ambitious vision with disciplined execution. Under his leadership, K&A has accelerated digital transformation, strengthened governance structures, and expanded its capabilities across architecture, planning, engineering, and advisory services. He defines the firm’s contribution to the region as a multidimensional impact: shaping iconic projects and delivering essential infrastructure that communities rely on, ensuring that resilience, sustainability, and long-term value remain at the core of the firm’s legacy.
