K&A Celebrates Double Win at Construction Technology Awards
- Awards presented in BIM Organization of the Year and Rising Star categories
DUBAI (9 June 2022) – Multidisciplinary consultancy Khatib & Alami (K&A) celebrated two prestigious successes at last night’s Construction Technology Awards. The company was named BIM Organization of the Year, while Structural Computational Solutions Manager, Hussein Rida, won ConTech Rising Star of the Year.
The Construction Technology Awards, part of the Construction Technology Festival, recognizes forward-thinking individuals, organizations, and projects that have demonstrated the best use of digital technologies to improve design, efficiency, cost, sustainability, and safety.
“We are thrilled with this recognition that reflects the dedication of our people to drive the adoption of BIM across all parts of the organization,” said Ahmed Faeq, Senior Director of Operational Excellence.
“K&A’s adoption of BIM has been a core part of its digital transformation, improving decision-making, reducing timescales, and maximizing project performance. BIM is enabling reliable, clash-free, and sustainable projects that offer low maintenance costs, reduced risks and higher revenue streams.”
The company’s BIM journey started in 2011 but accelerated in 2018 with the launch of K&A’s digital transformation program. This has led to the emergence of a dynamic, tech-friendly culture, including the in-house development of new, client-focused products and services which position the company among the world’s leading international technology providers and systems integrators in its sector.
ConTech Rising Star of the Year winner, Hussein Rida, has played a transformational role in expanding digital computation and design automation across all AEC services. His advanced computing skills and structural tools were a key reason he was selected for this honor.
Commenting on the awards, Hussein said: “I’m delighted to be recognized in this way by industry peers and colleagues. BIM automation made a significant contribution to K&A’s projects by saving around 40% of the time for specific tasks, reducing manual and repetitive processes, and eliminating human error.
“It’s great to be able to celebrate our successes, but it is even more important that we and others are sharing best practices that can benefit the whole industry, leading to better and more sustainable projects. We, as tech-driven people, need to use opportunities like this to motivate others to join us in this journey.”
